I am so thrilled to be writing this as I am the new Miss Teenage North Battleford 2015!
Let’s start with an introduction…
My name is Tori and I am a 17 year old grade 12 student at John Paul II Highschool. I have placed as a finalist to compete in the Miss Teenage Canada National Pageant in Toronto. Throughout the next few months I will be writing and keeping you updated on my fundraising events, volunteer events, and telling you more and more about myself! Coming from a city that nothing big really happens in, it is a dream come true to have come this far already, and I do plan on reaching for the stars and going even further!
I absolutely love to travel and I am always up for a new adventure! I have travelled to Spain, Africa, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, British Columbia, and this October I will be travelling to Costa Rica to volunteer at an animal sanctuary and teach village kids English and my Canadian culture. My family and I share our passion for travelling. We are all learning Spanish together and we actually have discovered we can spend 40 hours in a vehicle together and not totally drive each other crazy. That’s something to be proud of, I would say!
My boyfriend lives on a farm and he has definitely turned this pageant girl into a farm girl! I have fallen in love with everything about it, who knew ‘chores’ could be so fun? I got to bottle feed a calf, (cutest thing ever!) wrestle calves at the brandings, watch a new born calf try to stand, feed cows, and so much more. I am a city girl so it was all very new to me, but I absolutely love it all!
Another thing about myself is I dance to the beat of my own drum, I love to be different. With the title of Miss Teenage North Battleford, I am a positive role model that young girls can look up to and respect, I am working on growing and improving myself, and I want to teach everybody that it is good to be different! Society has many unrealistic expectations, but I think the most beautiful thing you can be is different, and everybody should know that. If you stay true to yourself then you’re already there. Being in a pageant was a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl. To have the opportunity to do something I’ve always wanted to do, voice my opinion, and help make a difference in the world is surreal.
I plan on getting a lot more involved with the community, making myself known to everyone, growing, and being the best Miss Teenage North Battleford I can be!
And last but not least I would like to say a big thank you to my gold sponsor FF2 clothing store in the co-op mall for helping me come this far!
Thanks for reading!
Until next time, peace!:)
